Game Fan
A twitchfest that relies on lightning reflexes and good ol' ninja skill, not the patience to sit through poorly acted cut scenes. That's a compliment, by the way.

Daily Radar
Solid and competent, the cannon hits its mark.

IGN
In the end, Cannon Spike is definitely a great game that, despite lacking longevity, will satisfy those nervous reflex twitches.

Sega X
It won't grab you by the throat and pull you in for months of your life, but it'll glue you to your seat for a good 30 minutes every now and then.

Hot Games
Fast, fun, and full of fire, but it's way too short. Even on all the difficulty levels you are getting the same game all around.

For some shooting action with a twist, Cannon Spike is a ripping good time.

The characters themselves are very cool and there are few games you can pick up for the DC that offer better arcade-style action.

It won't keep you entertained forever, but if you can get around its lack of length, Cannon Spike delivers.

AllDreamcast
It's definitely not a bad game, just very short, even by arcade standards. But if all you're looking for is a fun shooter, Cannon Spike delivers the goods.

Gaming Maxx
If you miss the good old days of arcade blastfests, Cannon Spike is your wish come true. It's a good, exciting, simple game anyone should be able to pick up and play. Yes, it will all be over way too soon, but while it lasts you'll have a blast.

Happy Puppy
But if you move through the settings from easy to normal to hard to very hard, you've got a challenging shooter that is as graphically appealing and fun as any out there--except, of course, for "Radiant Silvergun."

NTSC-uk
A hybrid of a game that, whilst doing nothing outstandingly original, is still enjoyable, especially when joined by a fellow human player.

With only ten small stages, the game can be completed in about 20 minutes.

Game Revolution
a horrible beat-em-up, but as a shooter it seriously applies pedal extremities to hindquarters... This is a really fun game once you play it the way the developers intended.

A total waste of time and money, and I truly regret having to write this review.

DC Swirl
Unlike most shooters this is a game anyone can play without fear of going red-eye enraged with frustration.

Gaming Age
The final problem that really kills the title is its length and lack of replay value. There are only 10 stages plus the final boss which only take you about 40 minutes to plow through.

Joel L. gave it an 8:
Very addictive gameplay, yet very difficult. The game is pretty short, but it's fun the whole way through, and if you can resist playing it on child difficulty, it'll take a while to beat, which is a plus. Good variety in characters and stages. One of the best looking DC titles I've seen!
