Games Radar UK (Pre-2006)
Put simply, this is the best 2D beat-em-up that we've played on any format so if you're a fan of the genre and choose to veer away from stunning 3D fighters like "Soul Calibur," this is the game for you.

An excellent title and sure to satisfy even the most devastating of cravings.

Amazing graphics, limitless playability. You just won't find a fighting game this good for a long time to come.

While it would be nice to have more available characters, Capcom vs. SNK will keep you busy for a very long time, mastering the nuances of the fighting engine and unlocking the huge amount of hidden features.

Obviously, the game's got a lot going for it -- but we can't help but notice several glaring omissions in the character roster.

The two companies have succeeded in creating a good game but perhaps haven't reached their potential.

All in all, this is easily the best fighting game on the market along side "Vampire Chronicles."

if you're looking for an accurate match-up between the two companies, forget it. For the rest of us though, Capcom just delivers some good, old-school 2-D fighting action, and we all need some of that.

Capcom vs. SNK may not have as an impressive roster or flashy supers but it does bring together the two worlds we thought would never collide.

Capcom and SNK fans will be wettin' their pants for this one -- everyone else (including fight fans accustomed to more sophisticated graphics) will find this tepid at best. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a much more exciting game.

What maybe should have been "The ultimate 2D fighting game" winds up being little more than "Just another brawler."

A fun game, created around a fantastic concept; however, it's not quite the game fans would have wanted it to be.

DC Swirl
It's not the greatest 2D fighter on Dreamcast, "Marvel vs Capcom 2" and "Alpha 3" hold that crown but by all means this is another great Capcom fighter.

Has it turned out to be everything fighting fans had hoped and dreamed of? In a word, no. But the game is still a good fighter.

Game Revolution
While Capcom vs SNK certainly adds some flavor to the "Street Fighter" pot, it doesn't change the main course at all. Too bad, considering what this game could have been.

Whilst Capcom vs SNK Millenium Fight doesn't set the 2D fighting world alight, it's a fun, slightly flawed, yet visually impressive bundle of joy in an orange case. Can we say fairer than that?

Gio D. gave it a9:
Love the Capcom vs Snk series. Love 'EM. I'll take this VS. series over the Marvel vs Capcom series any day of the week. Capcom vs Snk is still, till this day, one of my favorite fighters ever. Everything about it was fantastic. Production values, music, backgrounds, control, fun factor, characters, this game has it all. My 1 and only negative (and I'm sure most people would agree) would be the raito system, but its definitely not enough to tarnish this phenomenal fighter. Highly recommended to all fighting fans.

Ash E. gave it a 9:
The best game in the whole world...thats true.......

DJ M. gave it a 9:
INCREDIBLE!!!

Brandon S. gave it a 9:
What a great game! First off, the premise is just plain wacky, but if you make it past that, you'll realize that this is a REAL accomplishment for both Capcom and the now sadly deceased SNK company. However, this game does have a few flaws. First off and most obvious, the balance of the game is quite off: the SNK groove holds a major advantage over the Capcom groove with unlimited desperation (Super Special) moves. Second, fans of both series will be shocked at what characters got left out of the series, such as Guy from the Street Fighter Alpha series and Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi from the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters games. Lastly, even using the training time trick to earn points (leaving the game in training mode for about 1 and 3/4 hours at a time) to buy characters still takes an inordinate amount of time, although the rewards are sweet. Overall, however, this is an excellent game that, although somewhat lacking and having limitations, should be picked up by any fighting game fan....that is if you don't have a PS2 and have enough dough to chuck down on a copy of Capcom Vs. SNK 2.

Taky K. gave it an 8:
It's a great game, nice graphics, although they could have made more characters and also made it a little easier to get points in the secret shop. (i mean 300-to 400 points every arcade mode are way too long-if it weren't for those two mistakesm I would have rated a ten.)

Murray M. gave it a 9:
This game represents the classic streetfigther style that has been lacking from recent capcom games. Unlimited replayability, wonderful characters, and more depth that the last five SF games released combined.

Al M. gave it a 10:
It's the best 2D fighter out there.
